Finally listening/reading my way through this dense, detailed treatment.
One take away: it is an amazing feat of national restraint that war didn't break out until 1861. There were so many powder keg moments in the decade prior.
Drove my self-powered car on roads prepared for orderly, smooth transport while listening to multiple radio stations of choice.
I went to a restaurant that prepared a personalized meal in 15 minutes, something medieval royalty would marvel at but is boringly common to us.

I then went to a bargain bookstore across the street that has everything from Aristotle to modern cd/dvds.
I left and ordered a coffee on my phone then picked it up at a convenient side window as I headed back home to my air-conditioned residence.

For the record, dalliance with a Nazi sponsor signals a decline in Christendom, not growth. Regardless of all the happy and obedient children running around, spiritual barrenness, not fruitfulness, will be the end.
Survey any center city urban PCA church. More than half the attenders support legalized ‘same sex marriage.’ In fact, many are enthusiastic supporters. ‘Love not the world’ is often not part of the city ecclesial ethos.
I’m excited to share the release of Westminster Reader— a clean, focused app for reading and studying the Westminster Standards.
The app includes:
• Westminster Confession of Faith
• Westminster Shorter Catechism
• Westminster Larger Catechism
• Full offline KJV proof texts
• Searchable prooftexts
• Flash cards
• Reading plans
• Bookmarks
• Light and dark reading themes
My hope is that this app will make the Standards easier to read, search, study, and return to again and again.
Westminster Reader is available now.

Is ≠ ought. For numerous reasons, churches are predominately [insert ethnicity] but do not believe they are morally obligated to remain [insert ethnicity]. Why? Is ≠ ought. In any case, ethnic particularity & redemptive racial inclusivity are not inimical. See H. Thurman here:
Cross-racial casting doesn't bother me. Art requires imagination. Use it.
But historical accuracy is important. We should respect the details.
Moreover, bowing to the multicultural zeitgeist gods is cowardly & destructive. Directors shouldn't do that.

Ministering in global urban areas, autonomy was the governing idol of many. People were ran from marriage/family in pursuit of career.
Responses to this video are the opposite: an idolatry of natural family that rules out the grace & fruitfulness of extended singleness (Is 54.1)
Singleness can be a gift that the Lord uses for your good and His glory.
Watch as Rebecca VanDoodewaard encourages single women to be fruitful with the time God has given them.
There really is something obscenely racial about instrumentalizing two black men in order to go after one white man whose views you really really don’t like.
There’s nothing like the reflexive paternalism of assuming black victimhood.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
The PCA DFW might not be approved in a year.
And that wouldn't be a bad thing so long as the process moves forward.
The Holy Spirit is free to move slowly, painfully slowly.
We desperately need divine direction in worship, not advice. We need to be told what to do & how to do it. If the Lord leaves it up to us, we will make a golden calf (Ex 32; I Ki 12.25ff). We will worship and serve our creaturely desires, not our Creator (Rom. 1.25).

The revised #PCA Directory for Worship begins with a bang. Surprising how soul-enriching a constitutional document can be. After reading, Sunday can't come soon enough. This is the kind of rich understanding of worship that comes with being a Presbyterian.
The #PCA is at its best, not when discussing the terms of a hypothetical ecclesiastical divorce for some subordinate missional end, but when debating how God directs us to worship Him, our ultimate telos.
