DISPERSAL ZONE | A dispersal zone has been put in place in Liverpool under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to help prevent potential criminality and disorder. This order, alongside the Section 60 authority circulated earlier, has been implemented to support policing operations in relation to today’s planned procession and counter protest in the County Road area. The dispersal zone is in effect from 9:00am on Saturday 13 June until midnight on Sunday 14 June. Under this legislation, officers have additional powers to: Direct individuals to leave the area if they are involved in, or are likely to become involved in, anti-social behaviour Require those directed to leave not to return for up to 48 hours Seize items believed to be linked to anti-social behaviour The designated area includes (and is bounded by): Queens Drive, Walton Lane, Everton Valley, Kirkdale Road, Stanley Road, Melrose Road, Brewster Street and Breeze Hill, including all roads, transport hubs, public spaces and premises within these boundaries. A person who fails to comply with a direction to leave the area, or who returns within the specified time, commits an offence and may be arrested. Officers may also use stop and search powers under Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to prevent serious violence. Superintendent Phil Mullally said: “We will continue to proactively put a number of measures in place, including the S34 dispersal zone and Section 60 order, and our officers are actively patrolling these areas to provide reassurance. “Our officers will be there to maintain public order, prevent and detect crime, protect life and property, and ensure the safety of all those attending and the wider public. “Where individuals commit criminal offences, we will take appropriate and proportionate action.” Anyone who wishes to report anti-social or criminal behaviour can contact @MerPolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always call 999 in an emergency. Anyone with information on antisocial behaviour in their area is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via X @MerPolCC or on Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’. You can also report information via our website: Report a crime | Merseyside Police or call 101. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via their website here: Giving information | Crimestoppers . APPEAL | Detectives are appealing for information following an arson in Everton in the early hours of this morning, Monday 11 May. At around 1.15am, MFRS were called to Stanza Court to reports of the front door of a home being alight. The fire was extinguished and nobody was injured. CCTV, witness and house-to-house enquiries are ongoing. Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said: "This is believed to have been a targeted attack, which thankfully has not resulted in a more serious outcome. To deliberately set a home alight is an incredibly reckless act which endangers life and causes fear in the community, and we are determined to find those responsible. "If you live nearby and have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell devices, please check them as soon as you can. We are looking for anyone acting suspiciously or making away from Stanza Court around 1.15am, and any vehicles moving in the area. You may hold vital evidence so please come forward." Anyone with information should contact Merseyside Police social media desk via X or Facebook @MerPolCC. You can also report information via our website: orlo.uk/7dmGi or by calling 101 quoting incident reference 26000371143.
