Just as Fr Dougal McGuire does with rollerblading, I get a great buzz off receiving the first copies of a book I wrote. My book on Laois and the Irish Revolution arrived in the post today from โฆ@FourCourtsPressโฉ. Very happy with how it has turned out.

As geopolitics shifts at pace - watch how different states play into this. China is being very smart-support for Ukraine, willing to fill gaps left by US & so on. Turkey also playing a smart game. Will take EU & Europe longer but US administration will not get it all its own way.

Censuses of Ireland, 1813-91. Check out Virtual Treasury, Census Gleanings, to see our latest additions, which include some census extracts from - wait for it - 1861, 1871, 1881 and 1891 (small numbers, I'm afraid). A long way to go, but we are well above 40k names in VRTI now.
