Breaking🚨: A petition has been filed calling for immediate de-escalation, humanitarian access, restoration of communications, medical treatment for the injured, accountability for the killings in Rawalakot, and implementation of Pakistan’s own commitments to protect civil and political rights in PoJK.
The petition says that civilians were killed in Rawalakot, Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, during the night of 7–8 June 2026. It argues that there is an increasingly blurred distinction between the repression Pakistan condemns in Indian-administered Kashmir and the repression now being reported in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the petition, reports from Rawalakot describe funeral prayers being obstructed, civilians coming under fire, communications being shut down, homes being raided, injured individuals being denied medical treatment, and civil rights activists being arrested.
The petition states that if Pakistan wishes to retain moral credibility on Kashmir before the international community, then the principles it advocates must apply equally in Rawalakot, Pallandri, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Mirpur and Bhimber not only across the Line of Control.
