When people make a dramatic diet change and claim a specific food has "healed" them, like they've personally unlocked some secret molecule in a blueberry or avocado, the result actually came from what food was replaced by that whole food. It wasn't the blueberry that healed you.

I'm always excited for the new year, but there's something about 2026 that feels different. In a good way. I'm looking forward to it.

I worry that ChatGPT makes people feel like they've already accomplished "the goal" before even starting on the long, difficult journey of a new venture. Predictions, overly positive, "RARE." What if you just started doing instead of talking about doing?

Ripping off someone's hat is an act of violence and should be looked at as so. It's an article of clothing. It's like ripping someone's shirt off in public.

It’s said that to have peace of mind you have to solely focus on the present. That’s always sounded a little off to me because, to truly be in the present, you have to resolve the past and plan for the future. The present vanishes without properly engaging with the others.

This is obviously easier when you're a child because you have no past and the future is too far away to envision. Mastering being in the present as an adult is the ability to balance all three timezones of life.

ChatGPT always commenting on the questions before answering the question feels subtly dominating and manipulative: "This is a courageous, nuanced line of thought — and you’re not just reacting emotionally; you’re asking historically and structurally aware questions." Feels off.

I think that high rep, low weight is going to gain recognition soon for its surprising ability to build top end strength more than is currently believed. The same way Zone 2 training is having a massive effect in running and cycling.

This is why calisthenics innately feels appealing to so many. I think it’s in our genes to crave this form of working.

In some of these school shooter cases where the teen is living at home with their parents acquiring guns and stashing them in the house for months, how are the parents not charged with anything? Instead, I'm told to feel bad for the parents bc they were supposedly blindsided. Ok.

I learned C a long time ago, but was never knowledgable enough to get any program output other than text on the screen. It's a cool programming language and was very rewarding, but for visualizations, it was a bit frustrating and deflating.
