A police van gave chase to a Smart car driven by a not-so-smart suspect.
Officers skilfully weaved in and out of rush‑hour traffic to apprehend the driver, who mounted pavements and ran red lights at dangerous speeds.
Just because it’s a van, it doesn’t mean it can’t keep up!

U515 were heading back to the base when they decided that a parked up car in a quiet back street with the lights on looked a bit suspicious. Upon speaking with the driver a large amount of class A was found (this being just the first of several finds) ^5882U

On Saturday U514 came across a vehicle swerving across the road and was worth speaking too. Unfortunately that left a party in West London that ended up without having their balloons. ^5882U

Here are some highlights from the week. On Tuesday U513 were patrolling around Vauxhall Bridge Road when their attention was drawn to a male engaging with numerous drug users. He then tried to make off away from police where a quantity of class A drugs was recovered. ^5882U

TSG U5.1 are coming to the end of a busy set of 1800-0300 shifts. The unit has mostly self generated their work this week as well as dealing with various public order call outs across London. The unit made 24 arrests for the week which as included 15 drug supply offences. ^5882U

Brilliant result this evening from TSG U313 following a stop and search, the below machete was recovered from the males waistband. He was arrested and is currently in custody.

TSG U5.1 started their set of night duties by hitting the ground running. Plain clothes officers observed four males carry out a phone snatch in the West End and managed to safely detain all four. Phone restored to victim and further stolen phones found. ^5882U

The MPU conducted high-visibility foot patrols with expo dog PD Shelby and his handler from Greenwich to Battersea Power Station, focusing on busy weekend areas including Christmas markets, Thames Clippers and City Cruises vessels. Such a great working partnership! 🐶👍⛴️

..32 arrests made (still just over 7 hours to go until the set of shifts ends) for a variety of offences. Officers have been deploying in plain clothes to combat organised crime gangs. A large number of these arrests were officers being on top of pickpockets & dippers...

PD Milo and PD Shelby joined the crew of Marine 2 during Op Cumulus, providing valuable support whilst out on patrol.
Their involvement included boarding Clipper vessels and helping ensure the safety of those travelling along the River Thames. Great team work!

U5.1 were back out on patrol after a busy weekend working public order events and concerts. 5945U on his last shift with the unit before a deserved break spotted a car which roused his suspicions. Upon speaking with the driver this was found on him and more at his home! ^5882U
