🧠ZK Technology for Dummies "Episode 14"
🔹2020 - ZKsync launches.
A small team with a big idea:
make Ethereum faster and cheaper. Without sacrificing security.
Nobody was paying attention.
🔹2023 - ZKsync Era goes live.
The first zkEVM available to everyone. Developers could finally build real apps on ZK. Not just payments. Anything.
Still, most people weren't watching.
🔹2024 - Everything changes.
The Elastic Network.
ZKsync stops being a single L2… and becomes a network of many connected chains.
Abstract Chain. Prividium. ZK Stack. The foundation is being laid.
$ZK launches. The community grows. The vision becomes real.
Still building. Still early.
🔹And now? 2026.
This is where it gets interesting.
Because 2026 isn't about building foundations anymore.
It's about using them.
Here's what's actually happening this year:
🏦 The institutional partnerships from 2025? Moving into production. Deutsche Bank. UBS. Cari Network. Not just pilots anymore. Real deployments underway.
🔗 Native interoperability? V31 upgrade going through governance now. ZKsync chains talking to each other natively. No bridges. No third parties. Coming soon.
⚡ Performance? Atlas upgrade delivered 15,000 TPS. 1-second ZK proofs. Near-zero fees. Bank-grade infrastructure. Already live.
🌍 Scale? The 2026 roadmap targets tens of millions of users. Not thousands. Not hundreds of thousands. Tens of millions.
🔹The honest part for dummies like me:
This is still early. Not everything will go perfectly. Timelines in crypto are always… optimistic.
But the difference between 2020 and 2026?
In 2020 it was a whitepaper and a dream.
In 2026 Deutsche Bank is building on it.
That's not nothing. That's everything.
🔹Simple summary:
@zksync spent 6 years building the rails.
2026 is the year the trains start running. 🚂
