One of the most beautiful #tektite fields is associated with the asteroid impact excavation of the #RiesCrater, producing the #Moldavites. In addition, the event affected the surrounding mineralogy & magnetic properties of the rocks. More details in this original #MAPS #article

The samples were extracted from mature mare sample 10084 and encased in epoxy resin to minimize contamination. (Tai-Jan Huang et al., 2024)
