HUGE congratulations to 8th grader Emily Mallard, who claimed 1st place in Pennsylvania in the SIFMA Foundation's InvestWrite essay competition! In Arcolaโ€™s very first year participating in The Stock Market Game (led by Ms. Jamie Davis), Emily wowed financial industry judges with her smart, long-term investment strategy. Today, Emily was celebrated virtually alongside Ms. Davis, Principal Dr. Ewerth, and classmates by the SIFMA Foundation and the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education. We are so proud of Emily for representing Arcola so brilliantly, and thank you to Ms. Davis for providing these opportunities for our students to shine!

How do you turn classroom science into community action? Mrs. Cowleyโ€™s Environmental Science students just figured it out. After analyzing localized environmental challenges like fracking, acid mine drainage, and climate change, these high school students identified their local legislators and became active constituents. Each student authored formal business letters to their state representative and senator, combining scientific research with a direct "call to action" for state leadership. Check out our students proudly holding the letters they are sending off to Harrisburg! We're so proud of our students for their civic engagement, and thank you to Mrs. Cowley for providing this creative, hands-on lesson that bridges the gap between the classroom and the real world!

Huge congratulations to Bo Bernstein, Angela Bravo, Gautam Harsha, and Alyssa Sardo for successfully completing the prestigious AP Capstone diploma program! These talented students recently presented their year-long independent research findings to an audience of peers and faculty. This two-year College Board programโ€”comprising AP Seminar and AP Researchโ€”challenges students to master advanced, college-level skills in research, analysis, collaboration, and public speaking. Check out the incredible, diverse topics they tackled under the guidance of AP Research instructor Mr. John Foley: โ–ช๏ธ Analyzing the Correlation between Political Identification and Personal Ideology Among Young Gen Z Americans (Bernstein) โ–ช๏ธ Assessing the Achievement Gap Based on Student Perceptions of School Climate (Bravo) โ–ช๏ธ Energy Drink Consumption Patterns and Academic Performance in Secondary Education (Harsha) โ–ช๏ธ The Ecological Impact of Golf Course Runoff and Eutrophication (Sardo) We are incredibly proud of these students' hard work and dedication to academic excellence. A special thank you to Mr. Foley for his invaluable mentorship and dedication to their growth!

Today, a group of interested students from Methacton High School and Arcola Middle School stepped out of the classroom and into the boots of local heroes at the Lower Providence Fire Department! โ€ This field trip gave Methacton students in grades 8โ€“12 a hands-on look at what it takes to protect our community. Students got right into the actionโ€”flowing hose lines, forcing entry, and utilizing rescue airbags! This was a great experience for students to learn real-world life skills, leadership and community pride. A massive thank you to the Lower Providence Fire Department, the Worcester Volunteer Fire Department, and Methacton's K-12 Career Counselor Shab Maffei for organizing such an inspiring and impactful day!
