What do you dislike about RG&E? RG&E extracts ~$100 million in profits from our region every year for their parent comany's shareholders. If you agree we need to #ReplaceRGE with a public utility that puts our community first, join our April 5th rally: metrojustice.org/rge_rally_4…

🚨 RG&E shut off power to 13,000 while making $122M — and now they want a 34% rate hike. The City has $500K reserved to study public power, but Mayor Evans & Council Pres. Melendez haven't acted. 📞 Call them: 585-428-7045 & 585-428-6056. #PublicPowerNow

After months of negotiations with their graduate workers, over 1,500 workers went on strike over the University of Rochester's refusal to schedule a union election. I proudly stand with them and urge the university to stop the delays and schedule this election NOW.

As we’re voting today, are you wondering why we’re not yet voting RG&E out? Because our elected leaders are too cozy with their foreign owners who put the head of the local chamber of commerce on their board. Angry? Sign the petition, then join the fight. #ReplaceRGE

Did you know that we can vote RG&E out and replace them with new management to create a nonprofit, locally owned, renewable public utility? But our leaders are blocking action, siding with a foreign corporation. Sign to Demand: Study Public Power Now! ReplaceRGE.com

City Council voted to keep $500k in the budget that can be allocated for a study to #replaceRGE, but we need to build more power to get City Council and the Mayor to commission the study. Sign the petition, join the fight: metrojustice.org/redpetition

So grateful for our champions, who are fighting tirelessly for #NYHEAT! NY’s climate goals are empty without this bill. We must end NY’s gas mandate and regulate corporate utilities. 9 days left. Let’s get it done.

Last night, the County Legislature voted to put corporate interests over those of the people. @CountyExecBello is largely responsible for this outcome. If he’d come out in favor of a study, the Dem majority would have passed it. Instead he chose to carry water for RG&E (1/2)

We deserve a future in which we’re no longer beholden to a multinational company for our energy needs, and we’ll continue to fight for that future. Thank you to everyone who has testified, marched, emailed, shouted, and thank you to elected leaders willing to lead on this issue.
