We met at a campsite last year when she was having a tough time halfway through the 35 mile Ten Tors event. We met again this year on the Friday before the start and I saw her cross the line after 45 miles #tentors #army #raf

In January, I fully ruptured my ACL on my ski instructor course. 5 weeks ago today, I had a reconstruction (by an Army surgeon and anaesthetist!) It’s been a really tough month, but feeling v grateful to have had such a good start to the recovery journey 💫

Young people from across the South West headed out on Dartmoor this morning for start of the gruelling Ten Tors challenge. The annual event is run by the Army in the South West is usually attempted by 400 teams of six, with routes ranging between 35 and 55 miles. Up to 400 young people with additional needs were also taking part in a one-day event called the Jubilee Challenge. Many of the teams have been training for months in preparation.

Don’t forget to apply to use your allocation of SLCs this financial year on something for your personal development (claims need to be in by mid March).
SLCs pay for 80% of the cost, up to a maximum of £175💰

Last week I had the privilege of being involved in the Chiefs of Defence Network Conference on Women Peace & Security in Sarajevo @UKDefenceinBiH.
Listened to speakers from across the world - policymakers in NATO, the MOD & researchers as well as people from other armies

I genuinely love being in the army and feel so grateful for the women who have gone before me and those who have created the changes that have been so needed, so that women like me can have such positive experiences and opportunities!

Feeling even more inspired to increase my engagement work so that so more young women can find out/be reassured that being in the army is a possibility for them - the world will definitely become a better and more secure place with more women in defence.

In Nov 2019 I proposed ideas to increase engagement with women who may not consider an Army career. It’s become a little project of mine and led to my huge passion in female engagement. Very cool to be speaking at the Chiefs of Defence conference almost exactly 5 years on ☺️

This course was a great opportunity to hear from some excellent speakers and develop pan-army mentoring networks.
I was a little surprised when CGS popped himself next to me in the mess for lunch and asked ‘if you could get me to change 1 thing in the Army what would it be?’ 🤔
A thought provoking and worthwhile 2.5 days. Kudos to @Mgi1997 for putting together such a great course, highly recommended!
