A Rhode Island lawmaker is introducing a bill that would require stores to accept cash. Have you ever encountered a cash-free store that only takes cards?

Because bullying is never acceptable!!
The House today approved legislation sponsored by House Deputy Majority Whip @MiaForRep to address bullying in schools by creating a restorative justice program in which the student found to have engaged in bullying based on religion, sexual orientation or ethnicity would perform community service designed to educate them and deter future bullying. “Bullying in all forms is awful, but it is even more heinous when it’s based on personal identity. Attacking someone because of their race, religion or sexual orientation is hateful, plain and simple,” said Representative Ackerman (D-Dist. 45, Cumberland, Lincoln). “We need to do more than just tell students this behavior is unacceptable: we need to show them why discrimination is so harmful and provide an opportunity for them to learn.” More information: rilegislature.gov/pressrelea…

@TheValleyBreeze: The Rhode Island Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs has recently honored Deputy Majority Whip @MiaForRep its Champion of Youth award for leadership and steadfast commitment to Rhode Island’s young people at a Statehouse event. “I am tremendously honored by this thoughtful recognition from an organization that makes such a positive difference in our children’s lives, and I am proud to work alongside Rhode Island’s Boys & Girls Clubs to ensure our young people get the support, experience and tools they need to fulfill their enormous potential,” said Ackerman, a Democrat representing District 45 in Cumberland and Lincoln.
