For the first time, Mexican long-nosed bats—an Endangered species crucial for pollinating agave and cacti—have been confirmed in ARIZONA! This discovery, made possible by 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 and cutting-edge 𝗲𝗗𝗡𝗔 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, expands their known range and opens new opportunities for conservation. Our wildlife crime officer, Mark, is at the 35th UK Wildlife Crime Enforcement Conference and met the 1st Wildlife Crime sniffer dog in training, named Pudding, and Louise from @Vk9consultant. Dogs are used in wildlife detection and monitoring and can even find bat carcasses.
