🏌️‍♂️⚡ Last week: first real test of neurostimulation EEG feedback on a golfer, mid-round, over 9 holes. In-game, targeted stimulations to boost performance and EEG data for feedback off the course. #Fieldneuroscience #Neurotech #Golf #EEG #SportsScience #Innovation

Preparing for a big day next week, our first in-field #golf testing using mobile EEG. Data looks great, the X.on looks great, hopefully the weather is great too! #Neuroscience#sports #psychology

It's been almost 6 months - but big things are happening!! Stay tuned for some big reveals coming in the near future. #neurogaming #research #eeg #videogames #neuroperformance @fromsoftware_pr

Piloting our newest paradigm - using #EEG to examine the neural correlates of #gameplay in an action combat videogame. Very exciting to finally be at this stage! #neurogaming #cyberpsychology #DarkSouls3

Heartbeat artifacts can be present in any #EEG sample, but when studying #videogames specifically, there are pronounced changes in heart rate and blood pressure during gameplay. Thus, appropriate measures should be taken to control for this! #neurogaming

It's a shame that #LK99 isn't working out the way they thought it would. It would be really useful for #eeg, presumably to get readings that are less obstructed by skull resistivity. That is, assuming it would be safe to put on skin! #neurogaming

All the ground that has been covered by bot creators can be really useful in post-processing videogame videos for data analysis. Basically taking an arguably crummy thing and making it useful in an R&D context youtu.be/LXA7zXVz8A4

Take a peek at this interesting contraption we have been working on for at-home videogame neural monitoring! #EEG #cognitiveNeuroscience #videogames #gamestudies #science #neurogaming

It is very clear that there is critical #research groundwork to be done for the #cognitiveNeuroscience basis for #videogames. This sector is missing a fundamental research basis that will lead to opportunities and communities. It feels like it doesn't exist because it doesn't!

#flowstate is important and interesting, but it's piece of a larger framework of videogame play. #BCI is great and has an incredible future in both health/medicine and everyday life. But there is SO much more that can be done with #videogames and #cognitiveneuroscience

"We therefore recommend that future video-game interventions targeting cognitive enhancements should consider gameplay feature classification approach over existing genre classification" Agreed! It's the actual gameplay itself that matters. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article…

P3/4. Imagine prescribing someone who has a spatial disorder with 10 hours a week playing #Skyrim. That would have way more attrition and likelihood of people actually finishing the training and/or enjoying the experience. Bonus points if they want to keep playing after.

P4/4. This is such an obvious thing to me. What good is a training program that works empirically if it can't actually convert to improvements in skill because people dont want to play/use it. #cyberpsychology #videogamePsychology #gamestudies

P1/4. When small labs create a #training focused virtual program or "videogame", it usually ends up as a highly specialized program that may very psychologically relevant, but usually is unfun, unpolished, and/or has zero replay ability.

P2/4. The problem with this is that you can't just ignore the massive work, research, and funds that game #devs put into making fun, engaging, and interesting #videogames. A training program may work empirically, but what good is it if people don't want to play it.

We just got ethics clearance for our next study looking at head/camera movements in videogames. Very exciting! #cyberpsychology #videogamePsychology
