"Women's suffering is profoundly under treated."
A few weeks ago, my husband and I lost a pregnancy. The physical toll was something not even my doctor prepared me for.
The standard of care for women’s pain is medieval. We don’t need to agree on everything to agree this should be better.

For the last several years I have emphasized in private and in public that the Christian discourse about politics had become overly focused on Trump, and Trump-era paradigms, in a way that was leaving Christians (and those who do commentary about Christians) flat-footed.

Those who have advanced more nuanced accounts have not benefited from the satisfaction more blunt charges can afford people in the short-term. But the problem is that ill-conceived, motivated principles eventually run into reality.

This is an(other) opportunity for Christians to step back, consider first principles, and think about what kind of politics we wish to build, rather than just reacting to the particular, short-term framing we are offered by the circumstances of the moment.
