🚨 UPDATE: Serious Incident in Linby
Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision involving a car and three pedestrians.
Officers were called to Linby Lane, Linby, shortly before 9pm on Friday evening (5 June) after a BMW collided with three pedestrians who were walking on a footpath.
I am deeply saddened to report that a man and a woman in their 60s have sustained serious injuries, while an 18-year-old man remains in a critical condition in hospital. My thoughts are with all those injured, as well as their families, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
I am in direct contact with Nottinghamshire Police and will continue to monitor developments closely.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs. He remains in police custody.
Linby Lane was closed between Moor Road and Wighay Road while emergency services dealt with the incident. The road reopened shortly before 8am on Saturday morning.
Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, has appealed for witnesses and any available dashcam footage.
This collision occurred on a busy stretch of road and officers believe there may be people who saw the blue BMW involved in the moments before the collision.
If you have any information, witnessed the incident, or have relevant dashcam footage, please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident 864 of 5 June 2026. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
