KNC staff spotted two Mitchell's satyr, one of the world's rarest #Butterflies, this week at Sarett Nature Center. Together with @USFWS, @MichiganNFI, SNC, and @JBZOOGR, KNC is part of a coalition working to save this species from extinction. open.spotify.com/episode/379…

The threatened dwarf lake iris (Iris lactusrtis) is blooming in Michigan! Botanist Rachel Hackett and Huron Pines AmeriCorps member Liam Daniels started population and status surveys for the year. The state wildflower, a Great Lakes endemic species, is a beautiful find!

We had a great time surveying with @MichiganNFI at Watkins! Beautiful natural features, and no invasive stiltgrass in this part of the park! Bees 3 Scientists 3 .... ended in a tie 🙂 🐝 #teamwork #survey #invasivespecies #conservation
