Note how Timmy suspends the celebration to stop Bieksa's rink-length attempt to tarnish the box score. Time had expired, but Tank told TV afterward that he felt like he still had another series to play. Bergeron was the same, like Bourque in 2001. Their countenance had changed.
Happy TT30 Day! 15 years ago tonight, June 15, 2011, the Boston Bruins defeated Vancouver Canucks, 4-0, in Game 7 to win their sixth Stanley Cup. Legendary Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoffs MVP.🐐🐐🐐🐐

Our NHL Alumni family is deeply saddened by the passing of Kyle Calder. Today, we mourn not only a respected former NHL player but a cherished teammate, friend, and member of our hockey brotherhood. Kyle embodied the values that make our alumni family so special: his loyalty, toughness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those around him. He was tough as nails on the ice, a fierce competitor who never backed down, yet behind that grit was a teddy bear heart. Kyle cared deeply for his teammates, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a protector, a loyal friend, and someone who always put others before himself. A proud Alberta native, Kyle enjoyed a successful 10-year NHL career with the Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, and Anaheim Ducks. Over the course of his 590 career games, he earned the respect of teammates, opponents, and fans alike through his relentless work ethic, determination, and character. Beyond his playing days, Kyle was devoted to giving back to the game he loved. He was actively involved in youth hockey and passionate about helping young players develop both on and off the ice. He took great pride in mentoring the next generation, and his impact on young athletes and their families will continue to be felt for years to come. Kyle will be greatly missed and forever remembered by our NHL Alumni Hockey family. The friendships he built, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will remain with us always. As Kyle often said, “Family over everything.” Those words were not just something he believed; they were the way he lived his life. His family was the centre of his universe, and his love, devotion, and pride in them were evident in everything he did. Our love, thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support are with the Calder family during this incredibly difficult time. We hope they find comfort in knowing how deeply Kyle was respected, admired, and loved by so many throughout the hockey community. Forever a teammate. Forever a member of our NHL Alumni family. Forever in our hearts. Never forgotten. ❤️🏒

#NHLBruins D Camp D's with Boston-fan pronunciation guide (I should doublecheck these with @ConorRyan_93): Blanar [blahNAH] L, 19, 6-4, 183 (-12 in Swe-Jr ... whatever happened to "he's Swedish so he's defensively impeccable" ... he was born in Vail, CO, so...). Burkholder [BERKholdah] R, 23 in August, 5-8, 175 (invite ... LBI ended his season 3 games in ... Colo College captain has a year of eligibility remaining - intense competitor - what would be better for the Bruins right now than a righty Torey Krug?). Groenewold [GRAWNwauld] L, 20, 6-2, 208 (1st Team ECAC Quinnipiac - totally at home in big-boy hockey, plays a tight-gap game and recovers gracefully, VT kid with Johnny Boychuk-ish memories of staying out in the cold, shooting pucks, got NHL written all over him ... he and Brunet look like the next gen of Boston's left side). Johansson [yoHANsin] L, 20, 6-3, 214 (13GP @AHLBruins, 36 10 plyfs ECHL Maine, full-time AHL gotta be the goal for 26-27). Kostadinski [caustahDINNskee] L, 21, 6-5, 219 (heading into 2nd season at BC ... mobility is key). MacKinnon [muhKINNunn] R, 21, 6-2, 200 (83rd overall Nashville 2023 ... bounced around juniors, won OMJHL title in 2025, included pkg that brought Tanner Jeannot to TBL ... not known here to be related to Nate). Neumeier [NEWmyah] L, 23, 6-2, 202 (2024-25 ECAC Rookie of the Year ... transferred after two years from Colgate - sorry Mike Milbury - to Western Michigan for 2026-27). Pettersson [PETTahsinn] L, 19, 6-2, 170 (late 2nd rounder... mostly Swe-Jr., plus player, a few games in the elite league, long-haul prospect).

Response via text from an NHL player agent when I asked about Oilers coaching rumour… “The opportunity to play with McDavid or Draisaitl is diminished with the potential to be coached by Babcock. It is a valid concern voiced to me by a few of my clients.”

Turning back the clock and playing like the two-way stalwart of his prime but even better, Jordan Staal's 2026 playoffs peaked with a tremendous #StanleyCup Final series that netted him a Conn Smythe Trophy on Sunday. As a result of that, he became the oldest player on this list

The whole "hockey krishna" thing was B.S., because it refused to accept hockey's place in New England sports culture, looked the other way from Richie Hebner, Andy Brickley, Tom Glavine and the countless others - Hal Gill - for whom hockey was part of a well-rounded life.
Regarding the death of Eddie Andelmann. I remember Eddie being on radio when Reggie Lewis died and staying beyond his shift to handle devastated fan calls. He also called hockey fans hockey Krishnas. He did a lot of work for charity.

#onthisday in 2011, Tim Thomas was awarded the Conn Smythe trophy following the Boston Bruins 6th Stanley Cup Championship. Thomas's .940 SV% in the 2011 playoffs is the third highest by a Conn Smythe winning Goaltender.

And an hour later, @hurley_burly , Rich Garvin & Yours Truly took advice from the riot squad that apparently underestimated the close brushes we'd have with the mayhem while walking/trotting 12 blocks uphill to the hotel.
On this day in 2011, after the Bruins defeated the Canucks to win the Stanley Cup, Tim Thomas was awarded the Conn Smythe. Thomas stopped 238 of the Canucks’ 246 shots in the Final and finished the postseason with a sterling .940 sv% #Bruins365 #NHLBruins

By me, Dallas. Stars still contenders IMO but also knew it was Minnesota's year to upset the apple cart. Now the Stars have work to do and core guys to keep. Also saw Tampa going 3 rounds, but Bolts are like the eroding 1990s Bruins.
Who was the most overrated team in the 25/26 NHL season?

CAR with the Time with Tilt advantage for per 2. Looking at the left side of this image (which shows the current status of Tilt), we see that CAR had the Tilt for the last 10:06 of the period. While impressive, it also means, VGK had 7 min of Tilt in the first 9:54 of per 2
NHL EDGE IQ Ice Tilt for SCF G6 Per 1 CAR had CAR like Time with Tilt, but, VGK because of the PP, was generating Tilt at the end of the period. With Ice Tilt based off of player location, Power Plays are typically the easiest way to generate Tilt (and esp. Significant Tilt).

Goalie Brandon Bussi was brilliant as the relentless @Canes won the Stanley Cup with a 3-0 Game 6 win in Vegas. Look for Eric Robinson (pictured) the pride of Bellmawr and Gloucester Catholic, to bring the Cup to South Jersey.
