Shocking to hear @COSullivanTD speak in such a manner when he seen with his own eyes what's happening on bogs here by BNM. @DarraghOBrienTD continues to ignore our invitation to visit and see real evidence that contradicts what he says. #biodiversityloss being supported.
A productive meeting with colleagues today, seeing the progress being made on peatland rehabilitation and nature restoration. With almost 26,000ha restored and it’s a great example of how climate action, biodiversity and renewable energy can work together.
On #biodiversityday2026 don't ever be afraid to ask questions or dig deeper. By doing so, you will uncover scenes like this, of Whooper habitat losses on bogs by a semi-state to facilitate a proposed wind farm.
When Green Vs Green! #biodiversityloss madness.

Ireland already knows how to deliver an ambitious plan, and it comes down to this: you fund it. A nature restoration plan without money is like a human without a heart. It will never work.

in related news, will Coillte/BnM relinquish control over any of their landbanks ?
and how would it work in practice, for example where BnM are actively draining bogs for windfarms ?
irishtimes.com/environment/2…
as always the devil is in the detail, and what’s not released
these all go to appeal, and refusals get overturned
but NPWS know they can stall release for the 18-24months that OCEI takes to decide on the appeal ⬇️
Minister @COSullivanTD, will your plans be focusing on the bogs here that you walked and witnessed what was taking place? The implications to biodiversity loss is supported by @DarraghOBrienTD through the operations of a semi-state.
Where's the line?

Yet the exact opposite happens on critically important bogs on the Shannon, of all places. When will @rtenews highlight the reality of actions by BNM on bogs here?

Being so close to the Derryadd bogs, you could have taken advantage of our invitation to visit and see what's happening here Minister @DarraghOBrienTD
It's unfortunate that you continue to ignore community requests.
A cold, wet day in Roscommon but a great one to open the Frenchpark bypass, 7km of new road delivered ahead of schedule and budget. Part of the wider N5 upgrade, this €69m investment will make a real difference for local communities 🚧
Following heavy rains this week, farmers downstream of the bogs are paying the price. Pumping of water off bogs continues and modified drainage having taken place to facilitate, with underground concrete pipes removed and a new open channel created feeding into this river.

As long as Minister @DarraghOBrienTD continues to ignore communities highlighting where change needs to happen to deliver on Ireland's targets, then the longer Ireland will continue to kick the can down the road.
Start engaging with communities Minister. irishtimes.com/politics/2026…
