A gang member of a Somalian kidnap group kidnapped a Canadian tourist in Somalia, held her hostage for months, and collected ransom before releasing her. Months after her release, the kidnapper contacted the Canadian tourist via Facebook and pleaded with her to help him in his quest to publish a book about terrorism in Somalia. The tourist notified the Canadian government, they played along with the kidnapper, set up an undercover to approach him as a publisher, first met with him in Kenya to discuss d business, then invited him to Canada to meet investors. He was officially invited to Canada, visa came out, and he traveled down to Canada. He was arrested at the airport.
