We posted recently about how to submit records of rare breeding birds. Now we move onto what those records should contain - the details - precise location, numbers, breeding evidence and so on - to make them as useful as possible for the work of the RBBP.

A male Lesser Spotted Woodpecker at a site in central #Worcestershire this morning where the species has not been recorded in 10 years. I seem to be repeating myself year on year, but they're out there to be found! @WorcsWT @lesserspotnet #WorcsBirds

At this time of year when I'm out birding I really try to make an effort to add breeding evidence to my records. It's really quick and easy in @BirdTrack and adds value to my records, especially for @ukrbbp species. Added P for pair in suitable habitat. Good practice for atlas!

There's more Ruff in that flock than I've seen in Worcestershire in my entire birding life... I haven't seen one in the county since 2019...
Some shots of the 32 Ruff that flew around and touched down briefly, before continuing north this afternoon. This becomes a new site record beating 30 on the 15th April 1987.

Richardson's Cackling Goose on Grimley-Church Farm this morning, then flew towards riverside fields when flushed by a dog. 8 Pintail (5m,3f) was a good count for Grimley with Wigeons on riverside fields. Prob my highest count here #WorcsBirds

The local Fox hunt Trash Belvide SSSI nature reserve this afternoon. After being warned about their future conduct, when a similar incident happened several years back. They don't give a shit.

Would have been rude not to drop into Whites Wood, Baggeridge CP between jobs where the Firecrest was showing instantly on arrival thanks to @ianbutlerphoto. Feeding in a holly in front of us for ages, showing well, hovering all the time. Bonus Tawny Owl nearby :) @Staffsbirdnews

Something to celebrate - our 2025 Lesser Spotted Woodpecker report - successful breeding season, the most nests monitored & highest number of chicks fledged per nest since we started in 2015. Acoustic monitoring giving amazing results too, thanks everyone woodpecker-network.org.uk/im…

An unexpected addition to the garden list in Bewdley this morning, when this FIRECREST popped out in a neighbours holly just as I was contemplating giving up on a quiet VigMig session. It spent about 10 minutes in the gardens, but hasn't reappeared. #WorcsBirds
