No one likes mosquitoes. Ever had one buzzing in your ear when you’re trying to sleep? Annoying, right?
Now imagine dealing with a 20ft Mech-Mosquito wreaking havoc at Hewanorra Airport.
We’re really proud of how this scene came together, especially how seamlessly the 3D and 2D integration works for both characters. Huge thanks to animator Maxine Jouniot and the NoGhost team for their incredible modelling work!
Hope you all have a great Friday and an even better weekend!

Here's an animation break down of Grand Piton flying Connie and her dad Ruben over the Caribbean Sea to safety. @maxime_jouniot brought the fun with the Ghibli-esque movement of the pick up truck.
The Kanada style Fx animation was done legendary @naokiaraiza Cleaning up the pick truck was no joke, we were lucky to have Isabella Steinhouse on the case and the final shot was beautifully Composited by @maxtaylordesign.

Originally it was going to an exact copy set in the day but a conversation with Piton Song composer @rinamayporject felt like it was strange to have a kid looking so sombre and contemplative on a beach during the day.
Changing the time of day and Connie's pose made all the difference. It was the perfect scene to end the slice of life moments and enter before we transition into the fantastic.

This short film, styled as a trailer, became our calling card for a larger, untold story. Wes had always wanted to craft a narrative set in the Caribbean but struggled with the notion that it had to be rooted in social commentary.
That moment sparked a revelation: this story could break free from expectations and embrace fantasy in an unconventional setting. It was a permission slip to dream bigger and reimagine what Caribbean storytelling could be.
The breakthrough came almost as a joke when a playful sketch of a blue, white, and yellow mech posted on Wes's Insta, with the hashtag #CaribbeansLikeRobotsToo.
As many of us travel back home from visiting loved ones over the holidays, we wanted to share another slice of life scene that is typical in St Lucia where people sit at the back of pick up trucks. Always a fun way of travelling especially when you're with family.
Here's the final of this shot from our short vs the first draft from the storyboard!
Probably don't need to tell you what brand the truck is based on ;)
