The fact that multiple ministers lied about the advice they’d received to try and dupe the electorate is even more egregious. Two years ago immigration would have struggled to break into the top 10 issues for voters. Now it’s the top issue and that’s against a backdrop of smear campaigns orchestrated by various political parties and media orgs against ordinary citizens to try bully them into silence.

This means nothing without cuts in immigration. Net Migration last year was roughly 87k people. Multiply this by 6 years and that’s over 500k people, double the number of homes promised by Simon Harris. The housing crisis would be in no better a state.

The housing crisis will never go away if politicians pretend our gigantic levels of immigration is not a major variable. Per the CSO, in 2022 we built 29,851 new homes, but the number for inward migration was 89,500. Completely unworkable.
