FYI @GWRHelp - the 19.26 from CPM to PAD didn’t stop but (unannounced) just sailed through the station at some pace… 😳 - not cool. Station supervisor also aware and has reported. Surprised trains are even allowed to do that…

What’s perhaps most revealing in this announcement by @WayneBarnesRef is the acknowledgment of the time commitment required of elite officials and how that impacts their personal life and those of their loved ones - the game owes an awful lot to those who do make the sacrifice.

Rugby World Cup format from 2027:
- Expanded to 24 teams (6 pools of 4 teams)
- Round of 16: Top two teams from each pool, along with the best four 3rd-placed teams.
- Reduced 6-week [7-weekend] window. Pool phase reduced from 4 to 5 weeks.
- Pool draw "as late as possible."

The road is only wide enough for one car, so you’ve instructed the oncoming car to come through even though it’s technically your right of way. They’ve accepted your courteousness and here they come, driving towards you. Any second now they’ll give you a little wave. Or maybe they’ll just lift a finger from the steering wheel. Perhaps they’ll give you a full palm, or a simple nod, or the most confident show of appreciation: a quick flash of the lights. It doesn’t really matter, as long as they do something. They’re leaving it a bit last minute, aren’t they? At this rate they’ll be past you before they’ve even… NOTHING!!! THEY DID NOTHING!!! Didn’t even look at you! Just stared straight ahead! The audacity. Well, that’s the day ruined.

However, in the 35pg. document setting out the details, the word “umpire” appears just twice, and “official” just twice…

Get rid of the offside rule.
It worked for hockey. It would work for football.
