Schools need to start having conversations with the WIAA about postseason streaming rights fees and processes. Schools are charged to stream games from their own facilities ($150, or $200 if they have sponsors) if they don't use the WIAA's preferred platform of the NFHS Network, even if schools feel a different product is better for them or their situation (Hudl Fan, YouTube, cable access partner, student-produced stream). They shouldn't be punished for doing so. And fans shouldn't be punished by not having access to streams for high-profile playoff games that would otherwise be streamed but schools don't want to pay to do it. #wisbb #wisgb

If we were actually serious about student success, we’d do some obvious things: • Start school later • Stop stretching the day just to cram more in • Protect arts, PE, and recess • Build around kids’ strengths, not just what they miss • Let students think, create, and explore • Stop letting tests drive everything • Make school enjoyable again • Notice and celebrate growth Most of this isn’t radical.
