As Iran launches its retaliatory strikes, remember that Israel's Mossad and military headquarters are located in civilian areas in Tel Aviv, which, by the Israelis' own standard for Gaza, makes civilians “human shields” and a legitimate military target.
“Part of the strategy of this jihadist movement is to base its infrastructure of terror, let’s say missiles, long-range missiles, in civilian surroundings.”
Israeli President Isaac Herzog told CNN when asked about the strike on a girls’ elementary school in southern Iran that, according to Iranian media, has killed 165 people, most of them girls aged 7 to 12.
He said he was “trying to verify” the reports but did not provide further details.
GeoConfirmed, an OSINT group that verifies footage through geolocation, says the destroyed school in Minab, Hormozgan Province, was located near an IRGC naval base that was also struck in the same wave of airstrikes.
The group says there is no evidence the explosion was caused by a failed IRGC missile launch, and that the more plausible explanation, based on available evidence, is that the school was hit during the broader strikes on the base.
