2 Pennsylvania judges sent hundreds of children to for-profit jails in exchange for $2.8M in kickbacks.
Mark Ciavarella and Michael Conahan sent children as young as 8 to the PA Child Care jails, often in shackles, for minor crimes.
They've been ordered to pay $200M in damages.

A interesting piece of Scottish history for today #InternationalWomensDay
Scotland apologized to thousands of women executed as witches 300 years ago, admitting it was "at least in part" misogyny.
About 2,500 people were executed. Many were targeted for brewing beer, which they did to combat unclean water.
Their breweries were taken over by men.

Finally some good news! We need more if these rulings! Fast! Worldwide, but particularly in the so-called civilized Western world, a reminder that Nature indeed has rights is so much needed.
Ecuador's top court blocked a mining company from drilling in a protected forest, saying it violates the rights of nature.
The landmark ruling over Los Cedros came after locals sued. The forest is home to endangered species like spider monkeys who have lost 80% of their habitat.
