Dear MintEngine Community, It is with a heavy heart that we announce the suspension of the MintEngine Platform effective 12/31/2023. As you may know, my wife and I have been largely self-funding this project, and we have poured our hearts and souls into both MintEngine and Taco Gatos. We do not make this decision lightly. We want to assure you that all projects launched on MintEngine will continue to function thanks to the blockchain and IPFS. Taco Gatos will continue in maintenance mode until we can determine what to do with that project as well. We would like to thank you for your support and loyalty over the years. Gatos community, as many of you are aware, we have not been actively pushing any new development for Taco Gatos or MintEngine. We do not want to see either project die, however. If anyone is interested in acquiring either Taco Gatos or @MintEngineNFT, please reach out.

The Web3 community just wants to have fun! Some of the best future projects could gamify collecting and participation in Web3. If this is the case, we could see a lot of cool innovative ways to connect, collect and engage enter the market. The better the experience, the more demand that will be created. You don’t need to be a VC backed project or have deep pockets to get started anymore… We created Mint Engine so anyone can mint and sell a collection! You bring the art and build the experience and we will put it on the blockchain for you.

NFTs will disrupt the traditional art world. Most art pieces will have a digital NFT version. Artists will create different ways to sell the NFT and the physical art. We think artists will bring an incredible amount of innovation to the blockchain over the next 5 years. Creatives that tell stories, evoke emotion and use the blockchain to enhance the artist experience will win. We want to help artists see the potential and bring their life to work on the blockchain. GM - How was your weekend?

Not every collectible project has to win on IP! Sure some will and create the big brands of the future. But doing one thing really well can make a NFT bauble to hold. Access to information/ Networking IRL access and membership Clothing Health & Fitness coaching Alpha calling In time the market will just price collections according to what value it gives to the holder and how much somebody is willing to pay to have that value. We think that PFP collectibles have to become Pokemon to be successful. The reality is as the space develops, niche, sub categories will be born!

How would you define Web3 culture? To onboard more people, culture is important. It’s what attracts people to the space, makes them curious, encourages them to learn… But, ultimately it’s the culture set by us, the community, that people feel first. It could be GM, positive vibes, supportive, togetherness, creativity, no judgement etc A strong culture will attract people into the world of Web3. What was it about the culture that made you stay?

Now may not be the peak time to invest in NFT projects. But it is the time to stay in touch with the market. Watch narratives develop, build new skills, make connections and build the foundations for the future. Staying aware and focusing on building yourself will be a great investment for when the tide turns. You will then be well placed to follow your dreams in Web3. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

In the next cycle, we believe there will be new trends in the collectible space! We are preparing our platform now to be able to support artists, creators and businesses to create experiences with us. For example: A digital artist may want to drop a 1000 piece 1 of 1 collection of office art. 1000 different pieces perfect for the office way. All they would have to do is share the 1000 pieces of art and we can digitalize the art for collectors to mint. Innovation & Creativity will grow and develop. We will see executions on the blockchain that no-one has done before. This will be cool to watch and watch Web3 evolve and grow!

Content Creators will be well placed to create amazing experiences in Web3 next cycle! They will have built trust, support, friendship and social proof. The best collections could come from people, not businesses. Creators have a blank canvas to create an experience their followers would like. There will be many great examples of this years from now. We want to help creators build their stories. We can’t wait to partner with Web3 creators to help them create cool things for their communities, easily & stress free!
