You all kept pedestrian and transit access at the top of the conversation between @nscorp and @SwissvaleTweet . We will continue to stay on top of the situation for safety and access for all residents, and loom forward to seeing future bridge repair/replace plans.

We have just received word that PennDOT has determined that the @nscorp Washington Ave Bridge is safe for pedestrians to cross, and barriers are being removed immediately. Thank you to @Pgh4PubTransit and everyone who signed and shared the #NoWayToTheBusway petition!

Thanks to @WPXI and @LaurenTalottaTV for their coverage. @nscorp's statement regarding plans for the bridge do not address the immediate need of pedestrian access. Regardless of plans to repair or replace, pedestrian needs must be addressed now. wpxi.com/news/local/petition…

A borough official made anti-Semitic remarks directed at a Jewish council member. Residents attempted to speak out in public comment. The Council President refuses to read the comments. A third message has surfaced that was never sent to council from admin. We demand action!

Why would Swissvale borough solicitor be concerned about liability for reading the comment, vs the potential liability from restricting public comment calling out Wilhelm's anti-semitism? Perhaps because they know Wilhelm is litigious, and no stranger to being accused of racism.
