DECENTRALIZED AI: PIONEERING AN OPEN, SCALABLE, AND COMMUNITY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENCE IN WEB3 I hope you are aware that the future of intelligence is being decided right now. But the most important concern around it is that; will it be a single and closed system that is controlled by a handful of tech giants? Or will it be an open, verifiable, and collectively owned public good? For the Web3 community, the answer is clear, and the race to build the Decentralized AI (DeAI) stack has begun. This is not about slapping a token onto an existing AI model. This is about a fundamental infrastructural change to make Artificial Intelligence trustless, affordable, and scalable for the masses. In this article, I will be discussing 3 major independent projects that are defining this frontier and are tackling the core challenges of performance, openness, and utility that the centralized AI models cannot simply solve. A few corporate entities control the core technology, the training data, and the access gates. This creates three critical risks that fundamentally clash with the Web3 principles: ✦1. Concentration of Power: The control over Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) could grant unprecedented social and economic influence to a select few. ✦2. Lack of Transparency: Models are black boxes, and it makes them impossible to verify for bias, security, or ethical alignment. ✦3. Scalability Bottlenecks: Traditional blockchains cannot handle the vast and rapid data demands that are required for real-time AI inference and model training. This makes the advanced AI dApps prohibitively expensive and slow. Decentralized AI (DeAI) solves these issues by leveraging some of the core blockchain principles: transparency, ownership, and token-based economies.
