Over the past few months, I’ve spoken with managers and employees across industries about the roots of today’s productivity and retention challenges. The insight was uncomfortable but clear. It’s that a new generation views employment through a B2B (Business-to-Business) lens.
The Old Mindset:
The company is my family. I will sacrifice for the family, and they will take care of me."
The New Mindset:
"I am a business (Me, Inc.). You are a client. I provide a service for a fee. If the scope increases, the fee must increase. I have another client."
So, I'm curious, for both Managers and Employees: What does a successful, productive, and mutually beneficial partnership look like to you in this new reality?

Here’s the math: Apple has about 1.5 billion active iPhones. Assume 90% are eligible (1.35B, excluding older models like the XR) and 80% actually update, and you land at that figure.
If Apple skipped its own CDN and relied on a single cloud provider, the egress costs alone would run into the hundreds of millions of dollars. Even for Apple, that’s a serious bill.

Last night, a message from my brother sent me into a full-blown panic.
He sent a photo of one of our office meeting rooms, completely trashed. My heart dropped. I was the last one to leave, and it was normal.
I quickly texted back and asked what happened. No reply.
Just as my anxiety peaked, I noticed a weird detail on the wall that didn't belong. Then I saw the tiny watermark.
It wasn’t real. AI generated by the new Gemini image model.
My brain knows it's not real, but my heart is still racing.
This tech is incredible, but for the first time, I felt a real fear about how it could be used for harm.
