We had the honor of welcoming Edgar Allan Poe (Ms. Lohman) to our class for a reading of his master class piece, “The Raven.” Quoth my students: “Um…Mr. West, what was that?” Quoth me: “Art, my friends. Art.”

We loved having meaningful conversations today while creating our team code of cooperation! Students took ownership of the actions they wanted to see from their classmates this year. #LIFT #MIStrong @principalmesser

I woke today vowing to focus on the good happening- I didn’t have to look far. This kind S was typing words of a book into Google translate for his new friend from 🇸🇾. The kindness being lived in @MasonSchools is beautiful. ❤️🌎📚 @MissE_Ed @principalmesser #MIStrong #MasonESOL

Today we had fun testing our mayflower boats to see if they could withstand the seas 🌊. Our leading boat held 100 passengers (marbles) before sinking! Love incorporating the design process into our monthly steam challenges.

Rethinking the way we welcome kiddos who arrive after the morning bell. They deserve a warm welcome as much as our kiddos who arrive at the bell
