I codeswitched for a long time, because early on in my costume career when I was a Costume PA, a Costume Supervisor and Designer who I was working with called the way I spoke 'ghetto' and 'off putting.' So I literally adopted a different way of speaking, including trying to hide my accent and the way I came across so I was more palatable.
Vtubing gave me back my confidence and has allowed me to be myself more than ever before, unapologetically and I am so grateful for that. β₯
Don't ever let anyone make you feel bad for having an accent. You should be proud, and celebrate your accent, because accents are cool and awesome.

People making the choice to show their face does not take away the joy and successes of anonymous Vtubers. There are many approaches to this medium and many flavors- itβs ok if you donβt like all of them! Just donβt go harassing people about it. Itβs THAT simple.
