New Year, New... Mix It Up release!? 🎆
The holiday season has us a little behind schedule, but we didn’t want to let the New Year start without sending a bundle of improvements your way. ✨
The 1.6.0 update is packed with new features, quality-of-life tweaks, and a TON of fixes. ✅
Before we get the party started, a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all our community members, and especially our patrons, mods, and devs, for helping us to make it through a rather tumultuous year.
Had it not been for each and every one of you, Mix It Up would not have survived 🙏
Ok, so, couple big callouts for this release:
First, we've started to take our first steps towards migrating our UI from Material Design 2 to Material Design 3. This is more than a fresh coat of paint. MD3 gives Mix It Up a cleaner, more modern look, while helping us improve accessibility across the app. The changes will be subtle at first but, over the next few months, you should notice better contrast, clearer visual hierarchy, more consistent spacing, and a UI that feels lighter and easier to navigate. 🎨
Second, we sadly have to say goodbye to Windows 8 and 32-bit systems. 😢 We know this one stings, and we don’t make calls like this lightly.
Dropping Windows 8 and x86 support allows us move the app forward in a big way, including the migration to .NET 10 and a stronger foundation for performance, stability, and future features such as cross-platform support. 🚀
Alongside those bigger changes, there are some highlights we’re really excited about, like themes applying without restarts, new TTS options, a redesigned login experience, menu customization, and improvements across APIs, chat, and integrations.
We'll be rolling this update out to all our users gradually throughout today, so keep an eye out the next time you start Mix It Up! ⬇️
We’re heading into 2026 with a lot of momentum and have so many new things in the works that we can't wait to share.
Here’s to making 2026 our best year yet. 🥂
