I am deeply touched by this piece, not only because of @mossrc's journalism, and everyone who had kind words to say, but also for the community of contributors and approvers who have kept @MobyGames alive, accurate, and relevant for over 20 years. I can't thank you enough.

Is there a @YouTubeLiaison or a human at @TeamYouTube that can look into this? His channel did not violate the guidelines specified in the complaint. His channel provides reviews and opinionated commentary on old computer games. No spam, deceptive practices, or abuse.
Quick announcement: I've left all social media platforms, effective immediately. The goal is to gain back the time/energy spent doomscrolling, and invest it in creative pursuits that help people (see my youtube channel link in bio). I can be reached via email or DM.
Best of luck.
Last night was the opening for the new Insert Coin exhibit. The amazing people at @CarneyCleve and @chigamespace did an amazing job creating a physical journey of our film. This runs through Feb 16, 2025 and you have to see it for yourself.
I watched 51 horror movies this October: trixter.oldskool.org/2024/10…
The biggest surprise was A Cold Night's Death (1973) where Robert Culp and Eli Wallach try to figure out what killed everybody at a remote arctic research station. Originally a made-for-TV movie but rose above that.
Thanks to Ted Litchfield for reaching out and writing this @pcgamer article. I truly mean it about wanting to get a lot of the collection out of my hands and handed off to others, this whole ordeal has been eye opening in so many ways
YouTuber LGR felt 'numbness at how powerless I was' as his one-of-a-kind retro PC collection took a direct hit from hurricane Helene, but seeing most of the trove survive now has him eager to share it with others. trib.al/SGq4RUC
I never thought "modern media anachronisms" would show up on my "shit that drives me crazy" bingo card:
- "VHS tracking noise" on 16:9 4k footage
- Simultaneous film sprocket holes digital "glitches" (pick one!)
- Fads in the wrong decade
What anachronisms drive you crazy?
RIP Ward Christensen. Glad I was able to meet him for the first time last year, and shake his hand for his positive influence on my life and career. mastodon.laurenweinstein.org…
Hey everyone, we've retooled our #fundraiser in a major way. Our goal is now lower, we've got a new fancy chart, and there's now a video of the #museum up top if you want to see what it's like. Take a look and help if you can! Spread the word, please!

Flabbergasted that Steve Gibson felt it was necessary to release a new version of SpinRite after 20 years, which was useful in the MFM/RLL days, but effectively snakeoil once IDE came out.
For giggles, booting it from floppy on my i9-13900k system with 40TB of attached storage.
In case you missed it, we released our new music disk Tactical Transmissions at deadline demo party last weekend. Amiga 500 of course.

What a great time to hang with Joe Bob Briggs, Darcy, and the mutant family at the Jamboree! Honored to receive the lifetime achievement award- and working with JB on stage is a privilege! Thank you all!
almost no cell signal but maybe this’ll work
2 trees destroyed my roof, living/dining room, flooded my LGR collection rooms down below
a dozen or more trees down in frontyard, no way yet to get equipment in to remove trees, roof hole is too big & unstable to put a tarp over it
Did u know a storm just wiped entire north carolina towns off the map and completely isolated Asheville, which has gone dark due to no Internet/water/power/ways to leave the city. Barely seen any news about it. Am I tripping cuz this seems like it should be bigger news
