Thrilled to announce the latest #ModernistMoments essay, from @EmmaMarns: "'People like that don’t expect sacrifices from us': Katherine Mansfield’s echoes in the Covid-19 era."
A truly timely reminder of the importance of Mansfield's short fiction... moderniststudiesireland.org/…
There’s an e-thief on the loose 🤬Ensure you’re buying from us and supporting @MyExplodingPen’s work if you’re heading over to grab some of MSI’s merch!
Someone stole my @Mod_Ireland Redubble designs and posted (slightly shittier versions) on their own shop!! 🤯🤬 I've issued a takedown notice, but fair warning out there for people buying our merch -- check the username!
(Hey, at least this means my designs are worth stealing?)
If you've been waiting for a sale to buy some cool stuff, Redbubble is 20% until July 14. I know I'm loading up on gear from my favourite creators. If you want Joyce-themed merch, you can support @Mod_Ireland (and not art thieves!) at our store, here: rdbl.co/3a8dNSV
Part 2 of Adrian Paterson’s (@SchoolENCA) #modernistmoments essay on Joyce and Yeats is here! How did Yeats’s poetry influence Joyce from Chamber Music, to Exiles, Portrait, Ulysses and The Wake? Follow the link to read and explore! moderniststudiesireland.org/…
It didn’t arrive in time to wear on #Bloomsday, but my @Mod_Ireland tee is super cute & comfy to wear while I recover from post-Symposium COVID. Feeling super proud to have designed these, so please do check out the #Ulysses100 collection on Redbubble: rdbl.co/3a8dNSV
Thanks to @Mod_Ireland and @MyExplodingPen, we're all sorted for this #Bloomsday and the next... But this does also feel like it could be a first act of childhood rebellion against a #Woolfian parent (even if it was said #modernist parent who purchased them!).
ALT Photo shows a short-sleeved white baby bodysuit reading 'BABY'S FIRST BLOOMSDAY' and a green children's t-shirt reading 'Bloom'. Both items also say 'Modernist Studies Ireland' at the bottom, and the o's of the 'Blooms' are like glasses with a Joycean moustache below and hat above.
