La mixtape de mi carrera universitaria, la pongo y me transporto (soy mas viejo que el fuego).
10 years ago today, chance the rapper dropped his third mixtape ‘coloring book’ 🎨
the project debuted at no. 8 on the billboard 200 and made history as the first streaming-only project to chart, earning 57.3 million streams in its first week (equivalent to 38,000 units sold).
the cover art was created by artist brandon breaux, who also did ’10 day’ and ‘acid rap, and was inspired by a photo of chance the rapper holding his daughter.
in an interview with the fader, breaux explained the artistic progression:
“for me in ’10 day’ he’s looking up to a future he is soon to inherit, ‘acid rap’ is like him being in it exploring/experimenting and ‘chance 3’ is like maturity, fully stepping into his greatness, his focus isn’t so much on himself but on the clear future.”
