Community update - Part 3: Direction & Way Forward. The structure of the development team is changing … for the better! A few months back Midnight Phoenix resigned from his role on the development team. Countless hours developing the wallet, balancing a change in day job and commitments of a young family were not sustainable. He can no longer act in any official capacity on the project but remain an active member of the community. Believe me when I say that no one wants to see this wallet launch more than me. In recent weeks Jeff (BD) also tendered his resignation citing a change in personal circumstance for his decision. Jeff was previously accountable for project finance and governance. Jeff continues to believe in the Montage vision and remains a friend of the community. In-line with the changes mentioned above, @Angry_Mechanic is leading a CTO of the project to reset the direction towards a pure play DeFi strategy. New roles on the development team will be appointed to guide the way forward. The Solana contract is the first positive step in the renewed direction for the project led by Angry. You may wonder what all this means for the Ethereum contract? My understanding is that the project remains committed to having an Ethereum token that is reflective of the MTGX decentralised strategy. The plan to reposition this asset is front and center of the CTO agenda. There is a lot to be bullish about looking forward. - we have a world class wallet asset ready to launch subject to cashflow and regulatory clarity. - many people are asking when the wallet will launch, which is a fair and reasonable question tbh. Right now there is no committed date. It won’t be this calendar year, plausible Q1 CY25, more likely Q2 CY25 but will depend on funding and regulatory changes. - in the US the new administration is looking more favourable regarding crypto policy, the entire industry is crying out for regulatory clarity.
