Day 2: begin the process of ending the state monopoly on the sale of liquor in Pennsylvania. NOTHING that is done by the state is done as efficiently or effectively as it would be done by the private sector… except maybe theft.
Instead of shutting down voluntary charitable action, stepping on First Amendment rights, and infringing on the Fourth Amendment, @pottstownboro should stop enforcing these arbitrary and unreasonable regulations. Thanks @IJ for your crucial work here in Montco!
Zoning laws aren't the only ridiculous laws in Pottstown. The borough also has an unconstitutional "rental inspection" law, which allows officials to rummage through renters' homes without a warrant.

Pottstown has a pretty narrow definition of what's allowable church activity in its downtown zone. It apparently doesn't include free meal service, an essential items pantry, or family counseling. My latest: reason.com/2022/07/07/pennsy…
Zoning is a tool to control others - and in Pottstown, that means preventing volunteers from taking care of their neighbors. It's not enough to grant an exception for charity - municipalities simply shouldn't have the power to stop us from helping each other.
