As part of the Philippine Navy's 128th Founding Anniversary, it commissioned the second Rajah Sulayman-class offshore patrol vessel, named the BRP Rajah Lakandula (PS-21).
This is second PN ship to bear the name of the last ruler of pre-colonial Kingdom of Tondo.

Chinese propagandists are trying to mislead people by writing nonsense that both Japan and the Philippines' plans to settle maritime delimitation is absurd since there's no overlap. Regardless Taiwan's own claims are included or excluded, there is Philippine - Japan EEZ overlap.

The Philippine Navy has raised a public tender for 5 new 8x8 armored personnel carriers for its Peacekeeping Operations unit. Specs are basic STANAG 2 armor, fording capability, only weapon mount for HMG. Budget of Php500m. Typical UN PKO basic requirements only. But....

The 🇵🇭Philippine Coast Guard held a Send-off ceremony for the men and women of BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) as it sails for Hawaii for Exercise RIMPAC 2026.
The PCG is the first overseas coast guard organization to participate in the US-hosted multilateral exercises.

Army units from 🇵🇭PH, US, Japan, Australia and New Zealand took part in the Air Assault drills as part of Exercise Salaknib 2026 Phase 2, from Capas, Tarlac to Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija. Exercise was undertaken under Joint Pacific Readiness Center Exportable (JPMRC-X) program.

One of the 🇵🇭Philippine Air Force's SF-260FH basic trainer aircraft fatally crash yesterday 20 May 2026. The aircraft crashed in Mt. Cabuyao in Benguet, killing 1LT Ruth Angelique Pasos and 2LT Cherky Embudo. The aircraft was part of an 11-ship training formation.

With this, all remaining 16 SF-260FH basic trainers were grounded pending completion of investigations. These SF-260FH were bought in 2008 and delivered in 2011. They join older T-41B/D Mescalero used for primary training.

MaxDefense Philippines has been advocating for updating the PAF's pilot training program including replacement of the T-41s in primary, possibly by the existing SF-260FH fleet, while replacing the basic trainers with a more capable platform, and in larger numbers.
