UConn employs ~600 H1B's, median $65k/yr. Mostly research assistants & professors.

Ashley Tellis (allegedly) has been covertly meeting with Chinese officials for years, including at a Sept. 2 dinner in Fairfax, VA. Near the end of that dinner, Chinese officials gave Tellis a "red gift bag," according to court documents. (This last part from Fox News.)

Ashley Tellis was under surveillance as he downloaded USAF aircraft details in a US govt cubicle. Then he promptly handed Chinese officials a gift bag.
Now, after being arrested, Tellis says the bag was only “a small gift of tea”.
Ashley thinks prosecutors are stupid.
