Been saying this since launch, Clive Rosfield is up there with some of the best protagonists the franchise has to offer, period.

Lock in: FFXV and FFXVI were a refreshing change for the franchise. Way before these two when I started FF in 2009, I watched those turn based battles, those larger than life summon attacks. I wondered how they would look in true real time glory where you felt like you were a part of playable cinema. We’ve had 12 mainline games to enjoy that classic command based gameplay for XV and XVI to break the mold creatively where gameplay is concerned. If these were the only two to truly to do that and FFXVII goes back to basics then I am content with that because I got my childhood fantasy.

Nearly 3 years later and it still amazes me that Square Enix managed to tastefully represent gay characters in a way that didn’t feel contrived. Tons of media, game media still have a hard time writing with this type of grace.

I’m glad new fans aren’t afraid—aren’t discouraged from getting into the modern games first. Of course, there’s always that minority trying to dictate what you play instead of choosing what looks cool to you. But I’m starting to see a lot more of these posts and it shows that there *is* a natural appeal for the modern style and that’s great.

I think all of these are inevitable except for the Lightning Trilogy, which is wild considering its the oldest. I’m starting to think Square Enix is afraid of spending their time remastering or even giving proper ports for those games.

I caved and bought Final Fantasy VII's Twin Pack. So far, it's much better than I expected.

Bro is hitting the craziest side quest of all time, meanwhile it’s the average JRPG fans biggest dream.

Starting my re-re-replay of FF7 Rebirth before I finally jump into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 next week. So many great games to play when you’re an RPG fan you love to see it.

Anyone who actually believes Golden is better is out of their mind here. The updated one is genuine cinema, always in motion. The camera work is dynamic, giving the scene so much weight to an otherwise static scene from Golden. That’s the potential of a remake.
