Today, I started my journey into the world of cybersecurity. I started by exploring key concepts and diving deep into the CIA Triad. Cybersecurity is the protection of systems, networks, critical data, and any valuable resource from disruption, damage, or destruction. The importance of cybersecurity in today’s world cannot be underplayed. Every device connected on the internet requires security to remain functional and efficient. I also explored the CIA Triad - A core cybersecurity principle. CIA is a three element model that stands for confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Confidentiality involves ensuring that only authorized users have access to relevant data or resources, and preventing unauthorized individuals from accessing them. Integrity involves making sure the content of a data is not maliciously or unintentionally tampered with, modified, altered, or changed. Availability involves granting authorized users access to resources at the right time, when needed. I also installed virtualbox. Virtualbox is a hypervisor that I plan on using to get more hands on in cybersecurity. With virtualbox, I can work on various virtual machines and explore various aspects of cybersecurity. I’m excited for what’s ahead. Let’s go!
