One of the biggest reasons expansion team Toronto has a winning record through the first 25% of the season has been the play of Brittney Sykes.
Across the Tempo’s six victories, Sykes is averaging (24.5) points per game and is coming off a 25-point performance in a 17-point win over Chicago.
Toronto is (4-1) this season when Sykes scores at least 20 points, with its lone loss in those games coming by just four points. With rookie guard Kiki Rice expected to miss the next few weeks, the Tempo will need Sykes to continue leading the offense if they want to remain competitive.
The 2025 WNBA All-Star returns to action this week, beginning tonight against the Connecticut Sun before facing her former team, the Washington Mystics, on Friday as Toronto looks to keep adding to its win total. 🪄
