Seeking job leads! As my first year at UCLA wraps up, I'm looking into next steps and new career opportunities. I'm looking for spaces to use my equity and education research expertise to advance equity in higher education outside of academia. 1/

RT to say that @katyhosbeinCER is super proud but Twitter won’t let her tweet right now for some reason. Congrats to you both!

As a reviewer of many a broader impacts statement I often see great ideas that lack modern best practices for supporting vulnerable groups (like properly hosting summer students). YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT- HIRE ONE! And this expert right👇🏽 is legit.

I especially started wondering about this when I moved 2000 miles in Jan 2020 for my postdoc and then spent two years doing a remote postdoc down the street from the university due to covid. Def easier due to being in education research, but it made me think about this

There's an open letter to be transmitted to @DrPanch, NSF Director, protesting the decision to drop this questions. I've signed. Please consider doing the same. forms.gle/2Hzjms2f3x28LQ587

Check out this great work by @NicoleMJames1 that highlights some potential drawbacks of using DFW rates to compare between courses!
Excited that this publication, "Course letter grades and rates of D, W, F grades can introduce variability to course comparisons" is finally out in @RSC_CERP! It's been a long road, a TLDR in thread 🧵👇 1/8 pubs.rsc.org/en/content/arti…

Like, my work is all about women being marginalized in academia, but let’s take a step back and ask whether white women like myself should really be counted as a marginalized population. A lot of diversity initiatives have a record of helping white women at the expense of others

Honored to have our paper highlighted as part of #ECABSelects ! Take a look at it in JACS Au at the link below 👀

This #ECABSelects paper, chosen by @Maia_Popova, "examines a very important issue - why faculty positions are causing so many women to turn elsewhere for employment." Check it out 👉 go.acs.org/2XR @Morgan_Howe42, Melony M. Kim & @PazicniLabCER Thread (1/3)

Hell yes! Super proud of the bargaining team for all of their hard work. Hopefully this will have ripple effects in other places so postdocs get justly compensated!
