Previous data suggests that nighttime cardiac arrest is associated with worse outcomes, but IHCA studies report that this has improved in recent years. This hasn't been studied in North America for OHCA, however, since 2013. Until now, that is.

1/ Airways in cardiac arrest #REVIVE2026 by Dr. @Moskowcrit Per AHA recommendations, if low tracheal intubation success rate, supraglottic airway (SGA) can be used. If high tracheal intubation success rate, either SGA or ET tube can be used @CardioNerds @OscarJMitchell

Transcutaneous pacing (TCP) is used to treat unstable bradycardia. In this multi-center study of TCP performed by paramedics, only 9.7% had sustained electrical capture, suggesting the procedure is frequently performed ineffectively. @ResusJournal share.google/KoRFnO6XMfUkKIk…

Every time I drop my son off at a bar mitzvah or go to a synagogue for an event, seeing the needed security guards, makes me angry and sad. I haven’t seen anything like this at a church or a temple The epidemic of antisemitic attacks on synagogues is pure evil and must stop

CONTROVERSIAL TAKE: In 2005, ACLS guidelines made a dramatic change to solve a specific problem. But, the change was made without much data and should this be reconsidered 20 years later? 1/

An updated universal Chain of Survival was developed for both pediatric and adult in-hospital and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest The purpose of the guidelines is to provide best practice recommendations in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiovascular care.
