Joan Beringer should play meaningful minutes against these Spurs. I’m so confused why he isn’t playing?! Rudy shouldn’t be playing 30-35 minutes at this point in his career. Rudy is already handicapping the team with his offense, and now his defense is not affecting anyone on the Spurs. He doesn’t even go for blocks half the time, just puts a hand up. At this point we need to try; it can’t be as bad as what we’re seeing now with Rudy.

Can someone explain why Bones Hyland isn't playing? He has stepped his game up and become a real spark off the bench with that second team. He helped us so much on this run, giving us the pace we needed, but head coach Chris Finch has gone back to his old ways. No offense to Mike Conley, who has been playing well, but they keep playing more of him even after defenses expose him every play.

So I guess the Wolves just learned how to play a zone tonight, because everyone looks at the player going downhill but doesn't try to stop the ball or block the shot, or even rotate correctly.

At some point, Chris Finch is going to need to coach with intent. This offense is horrible, and the defense is even worse. Try a zone or anything other than what we are doing. Mike Conely is not the answer. I want to see Joan Beringer play 5 to 10 min instead of Rudy Gobert.

I think the blame goes on Finch. He is not setting up Randle to succeed. Can’t as a big against guards break down from the perimeter. Have him flash mid post or feed mid post. Work from there and pass out on doubles.

Game 4 today. This is where the Minnesota Timberwolves show who they really are. Attack the rim. Push the pace. Stop settling and make Victor Wembanyama defend actions all game. Can’t keep reacting to the San Antonio Spurs. Gotta set the tone first. Which Wolves team shows up today?

San Antonio Spurs definitely played like a team fighting for their life tonight 😂 Still think the Minnesota Timberwolves hurt themselves more than the Spurs beat them. Left a lot on the table tonight. Game 3 will be different.

Game 1 vs the San Antonio Spurs… What’s the game plan for the Minnesota Timberwolves? You can’t play this series like Denver, this is about pace, discipline, and attacking the rim. Finch has to make real adjustments. So who’s the X-factor? Is this an Ant series? A Randle series? Or is this one of those where it takes everybody? Curious how y’all see it.

Watching Rudy Gobert battle Nikola Jokic this series was a real test for Rudy and he stepped up to the challenge… Now I’m interested to see how he approaches Victor Wembanyama next. Completely different matchup. Discipline vs skill vs length. That’s going to be a real test. Who gives him more problems, Jokic or Wemby?

Chris Finch’s “silly me” comment about TSJ kind of connects to something I’ve been consistent on all season. Player development in the NBA isn’t just about getting minutes or learning a system — it’s about intentional usage. It’s about understanding what a player naturally does well, then building reps and actions that strengthen those traits while they grow their weaknesses. TSJ is at his best when he’s involved in the offense — creating off the dribble, attacking downhill, making reads with the ball. When he’s stationed in the corner for long stretches, you’re not really developing those strengths, you’re asking him to exist outside of them. At the same time, credit to Mike Conley for stepping up last night when Minnesota needed aggression and control, and credit to Finch for actually adjusting late and sticking with what worked to close the game. But long-term development still comes down to detail: knowing your personnel, using them in ways that highlight their strengths, and not just fitting players into a rigid structure and expecting them to figure it out. x.com/WolvesClips/status/205…
