Snow on its own is not extremely slippy but with a freeze it can hide frozen ice and frozen slush that drastically affects tyre grip. Tips: Brake in a straight line when possible. If you start to skid Look where you want to go NOT at what you might hit. ABS will allow your steer.

Don’t break traction. Keeping moving if possible, even at a crawl is better than stopping and trying to move off again. A light right foot is your friend in slippy conditions. Diesel drivers use the engine idle in gear to crawl along and leave the accelerator alone.
