My name is Sue Lobdell, and I currently reside in Southwest Florida. In mid-November 2024, I became aware of the Patriot Survival Tactical Team through a post on X, which highlighted their efforts in western North Carolina. Eager to contribute, I reached out to learn how I could assist. Following my inquiry, I was contacted by Ralph, who inquired about my background. It was agreed that I would help with grant writing, research, and some administrative tasks. However, shortly thereafter, I found myself facing some ethical concerns regarding Ralph. After conducting my own research, I uncovered questionable information, which I addressed directly with him. Ralph attributed these issues to his uncle, sharing the same name, and, without further evidence, I accepted his explanation at that time. On December 8, I received a call from Justin Fromkin informing me of Ralph's incarceration in Palm Beach County, Florida, due to aggravated assault charges. This was my first direct communication with the Fromkin family. In light of this alarming news, we took immediate action to remove Ralph from the board of the Patriot Survival Tactical Team and revoked his access to the organization’s bank account. Sadly, his access was not blocked in time and Ralph took more money for personal expenses. We hope TD rectifies this immediately. Subsequently, I gained access to the QuickBooks records associated with the TD Bank account for the Patriot Survival Tactical Team, the only account I had been made aware of. Upon reviewing the financial records, I discovered numerous discrepancies and unauthorized personal expenses attributed to Ralph. Alarmingly, additional funds were misappropriated after his release from jail. Following a recent press release regarding a reorganization into a new foundation, I indicated my intention to be involved; however, after consulting with colleagues and legal counsel, I have decided against participating in this new venture. I have expressed my willingness to assist in a forensic audit of the existing financial records to ensure transparency and accountability. My commitment to supporting the people of western North Carolina remains steadfast. Although my primary residence is in Florida, my family has a second home in Westfield, North Carolina, a state we cherish, despite being distanced from the areas affected by recent events. Upon further investigation of the financial records and numerous requests for the return of donations, it has become evident that there may be additional bank accounts and funding sources that require further scrutiny. Unfortunately, I lack direct access to these accounts, and it will necessitate a thorough investigation by individuals who do. I have advised the Fromkin’s to not remove additional funds. I was informed of projects in progress which Justin wishes to finish to get people home. I will leave that choice to him as the new Board President. Regarding any salary matters, I am not involved and will refrain from commenting. I have received no compensation from the Patriot Survival Tactical Team, and despite being offered a fee, I have chosen to decline it. My primary objective is to ensure that I contribute positively to the situation and maintain transparent communication throughout this process. Charges related to the fraud I have uncovered are being pursued locally in Florida, while the Fromkin family is actively addressing the situation in North Carolina. I am not privy to all their actions, but I fully support their efforts. I take great pride in my reputation, which is vital to my livelihood. I deeply regret falling victim to Ralph’s deception and for placing my trust in him. Coming from a family with a strong military background, veterans' issues hold significant importance for me.
