Good to see the wildlife benefit from the fruits of our labor as conservationist! Thankful for the willingness of our producers to adapt conservation practices! Little known fact about pheasants is they will have dump nest. The nest in the picture had 23 eggs.

Grass is starting to grow! That means @NDSUExtension agents are monitoring growth and grazing readiness. Today I received my first report from Ward County, smooth brome at the 1.5 leaf stage and 1.5" tall. Last year at this time 2-3 leaf stage and 4" tall.

Emerald Ash Borer is knocking on North Dakota's door. Yesterday, the NDFS, @NDSUExtension, City of Fargo, City of Moorhead, and @mndnr joined the @NDagriculture for their EAB Delimiting Survey in Fargo, to look for signs of this invasive insect in areas adjacent to the Red River.
